Giovanni’s was established in 1983 by Lisa Cocco Pollastrini, the brains and the beauty behind our whole project. Lisa, born in Pescata, and her late husband, Guiseppe Pollastrini of Tuscany, had a vision to bring their love of Italy to Ottawa. From back when Lisa used to iron napkins until four in the morning to today where she still oversees her top team, Lisa is the heart of Giovanni’s. Her strive for exceptional details is still showcased.
Today she can sit back and watch her passion for excellence carry on. Peppe and Lisa had a dream and they made it come to life, together.

Chef Tomasz Gurzynski prides himself on his foundation of Education at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Art Institute in London, England. His most prized accomplishments include working at World Class Restaurants such as Café Le Monde, The Dorchester Hotel and Chez Kristoff in London, England. He began as a student and is now a Master…we are humbled to have him lead our culinary team.
